Brutal Jewellery

I have designed a men’s range of jewellery under the brand name ‘BRUTAL JEWELLERY‘.

A modernist jewellery line drawing inspiration from strong brutalist architecture and constructual forms, for a bold statement against todays fabrics.

All pieces have been designed by me, and hand made by Luke Anthony – the jeweller for Velvet Noir (as featured in British Vogue under Best of British). They are plated in silver, then again in antique silver which is rubbed and brushed to bring out small detail.

CASTING

About to go out and do some research for a new project. Not to think too far ahead but for now I’ll be looking at certain areas around Sheffield. Then certain areas within those areas. Repeat. Until I find something quite specific. When I’ve found [it], I shall cast from it.

I don’t know what will happen with the negative cast yet.

I don’t usually post up thoughts for projects but I feel like I owe my blog an update.

I just read an amazing account of an author’s [Henry Shukman] exploration of ‘Europe’s strangest wildlife refuge, an enchanted postapocalyptic forest from which entirely new species may soon emerge.’

For anyone interested in Chernobyl, wildlife, subversive spaces, architecture, or even psycho-geography and art, this is a must read.
